Attitude is Everything - Change your attitude and change your life!

How much do I want to read more? 9/10

I totally love this book. The more I read, the more it's for me. It's the result of a man's life time search that I started myself.
That man looks like me. He started his adult life in a domain he thought he liked. Then got depressed, got into self-help, fell in love with it, and became a motivational speaker.
Expect I didn't become that. My question reading this is, what if I tried a motivational speech for a small audience, just to give it a try.
What would my motivational speech would be about? Would I be able to write it down, and speak it up?
But first, I should embody what I'm talking about. Do I have any result with anything I'm saying?
Shouldn't I practice first? walk the talk instead of talking the walk?

INTRODUCTION - The Night That Changed My Life

The greatest discovery of my genera- tion is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.

-- William James

Have you ever had a job where you dreaded going to work most days - where you felt the "weight of the world" on your shoulders each day?
I was in pain, both physically and emotionally.
Spiritually I was dead. Nothing in my life had much meaning.
I simply said out loud: "There's got to be more to my life than this… There's got to be more than this misery and unhappiness."

Watching TV I came up with a commercial "The Mental Bank". It explains how everything we achieve in life is based upon our subconscious beliefs.
I purchased it. That night in my den was the turning point of my life.

I began to read Napoleon Hills, Og Mandino, Norman Vincent Peale, Robert Schuller, the Bible, Zig Ziglar, Earl Nightingale and many others.
I felt like a person who had wandered in the desert with a parched throat, and then suddenly found a stream full of water!
I began to change from a negative attitude to a positive attitude.
I felt better. I had more energy. I started to accomplish goals I would never have accomplished before.

From lawyer to motivational speaker

I felt a passion for my "hobby" I never felt for my work.
I started to present adult seminars for $30 the two hours.
I first was petrified. My heart was pounding and I was sweating. But I managed to muster the courage to do it.
The students loved the class, and I got a real adrenaline rush from presenting the material that had revolutionized my own life.

Never underestimate your power to change yourself.

-- Jackson Brown

Taking a stand

A positive attitude is a person's passport to a better tomorrow.

Whenever I spoke to an audience or wrote a motivational essay, I was so envigorated and full of life. I knew that's where I belonged.
When I gave up my lawer career to become a full time motivation speaker, my mum wasn't happy. It didn't carry the prestige. But that's what you have to deal with when you take a stand. Some people will disapprove of your decision.
You have to let go of something before you can move forward in a new direction.

Think, act and talk with enthusiasm and you'll attract positive results.

-- Michael LeBoeuf

How you'll benefit from this book

I've read a few hundred books, thousands of magazines on attitude and success. I've listened to more than 2,000 hours of audio cassette programs. I've interviewed countless high achievers.
More importantly, I have personally applied each strategy.

Think, speak, act

Part 1 - Success begins in the Mind

Success is a state of mind. If you want success, start thinking of yourself as a success.

-- Joyce Brothers

Lesson 1 - Your attitude is your window to the world

Better keep yourself clean and bright; you are the window through which you must see the world.

-- George Bernard Shaw
