How much do I want to read more? 8/10

I like the quotes, and the author's style, simple, to the point.
Do what matters. Our goal is to thrive, and we only do through actions.
It reminds me of Steve Chandlers (100 ways to motivate yourself)

It is always about the work. In the latter years of your life, your happiness and your self-esteem will be determined by the mountains you surmounted, the valleys you climbed out of, and the life and/or career that you forged for yourself.

-- MAYA ANGELOU, Rainbow in the Cloud

PART 1/ CLEARING THE DECKS FOR YOUR BEST WORK

Chapter 1 - “SOMEDAY” CAN BE TODAY

The work of today is the history of tomorrow, and we are its makers.

-- JULIETTE GORDON LOW, How Girls Can Help Their Country

How much of your time and attention has been focused on things that truly matter to you?
We are waiting for someday…

The trouble is “someday” never comes on its own.

YOU KNOW YOU’RE NOT WORKING ON WHAT MATTERS MOST

It would be one thing if you didn’t know you weren’t working on what matters most, for we all often get distracted and trapped under busywork. But there’s a part of you that knows it’s there and won’t let it go. That part sees a world above the noise, ephemera.

Unfortunately that path is just a formless idea. We don’t do ideas; we do projects.

those kinds of projects too often aren’t counted as projects, but they use time, energy, and attention.

To get to the place our soul longs to be, we’re going to have to convert our ideas into doable projects at the same time that we’re going to have to get real about all the projects we are doing.

WE THRIVE BY DOING OUR BEST WORK

Sages from Aristotle to the Dalai Lama have asserted that the goal of human action is to thrive.
we thrive via action, or, more simply stated, we thrive by doing.
I call the work that leads to our thriving best work.

YOUR BEST WORK CAN BE SACRED
