How much do I want to read more? 5/10

I like this concept, that fear comes from our perception of separation. (the opposite of wholeness).
This means if we could have power over our fears with becoming more aware of being connected.
With this inevitable separation, everything and everybody—which are no longer part of you—become unfamiliar and unknown. And because you don’t know what they are or what they’re up to, you are now vulnerable to them, and they can hurt you.

CHAPTER 1 - FEAR AND THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE

Now imagine that in this corporation called (Your Name), none of the 10,000 employees know their job title, their job description, who’s boss, or even what they’re manufacturing.

This is not a recipe for a successful corporation. And yet this is your life.

THE THINKING MIND

the Thinking Mind pumps or secretes thoughts. That may seem obvious, but we tend to think it has feelings, emotions, or sensations.

I THINK, THEREFORE I EXIST

[quote, RALPH WALDO EMERSON]
Life consists of what you are thinking of all day.

Who is reading this book? Who is making these observations? It’s not “you,” because, remember, you’re just a concept made up of 10,000 employees. The question, then, is this: Which employee is reading this book?
That’s right—it’s the Thinking Mind.

you will never get to explore and find your real and complete truth. You inadvertently become a one-faceted diamond, instead of what you were meant to be, which is a diamond with 10,000 facets.

no matter how much effort we put into eliminating or containing a voice—be it Arrogance, the Lizard Brain, the Thinking Mind, or something else—if we feel successful, look again: All we’ve ever really accomplished is the feeding of our own delusion.

CHAPTER 2 - GETTING TO KNOW FEAR

SEPARATION IS THE BASIS FOR FEAR

[quote, KEN WILBUR]
Wherever there is other, there is fear.

With this inevitable separation, everything and everybody—which are no longer part of you—become unfamiliar and unknown. And because you don’t know what they are or what they’re up to, you are now vulnerable to them, and they can hurt you.

WE WANT TO BE OTHER THAN WE ARE

[quote, ALBERT CAMUS]
Man is the only creature who refuses to be what he is.
